AMCENThe African Ministerial Conference on the Environment (AMCEN) is a permanent forum where African ministers of the environment discuss mainly matters of relevance to the environment of the continent.
AMCOSTThe African Ministerial Council on Science and Technology (AMCOST) was established in November 2003 under the auspices of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) and the African Union (AU). It is a high-level platform for developing policies and setting priorities on science, technology and innovation for African development. AMCOST provides political and policy leadership for the implementation of Africa’s Science and Technology Consolidated Plan of Action (CPA). AMCOW and AMCOST collaborates on Building an African Network of Centres of Excellence in Water Sciences and Technology working with NEPAD and the AU Commission. For more on AMCOST, click http://www.nepadst.org/ FEMAThe Forum of Energy Ministers in Africa (FEMA) was established in 2005 to provide political leadership, policy direction and advocacy to increase access, better utilization and management of energy resources for the sustainable social and economic development of Africa. Areas of AMCOW’s collaboration with the Forum of Energy Ministers in Africa (FEMA) include: advocacy for hydropower infrastructure development, policy matters and resource mobilization.
